Wesenyeleh Mebreku (ወሰንየለህ መብረቁ) – Resonance of Time (የጊዜ ቃና)

Wesenyeleh Mebreku (ወሰንየለህ መብረቁ) is a musician and educator from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia who has dedicated his life to the teaching and preservation of Ethiopian music. His multifaceted roles in musical education speak to his devotion to music - first in Asmara as the Founder, Music Director, and Conductor of Asmara Music Center, and as an educator at Abrha Bahta School for the Blind and Asmara University. Upon his return to Addis Ababa he worked as an educator at Tsehay Chora Junior Secondary School, Head of Division of Music at Mega Creative Arts Center, and Director for Directorate of Music at the Ethiopian National Theatre, in addition to several other educational roles there. This work led him to form the Adulis Band under the Ministry of Culture and Sport Bureau of Eritrea, in addition to recording two solo cassette tapes of instrumental works which were released via Axum Music Shop in the mid 1980s. The works on this release are compiled from the second of these two cassette releases, remastered and renamed "Resonance of Time" to convey the timeless nature of the music with a sense of reflection and continuity.
