A longtime regular on Future Times and Mood Hut, and also known as half of Aquarian Foundation, Tanner Matt really flexes a ruffer range on Newroomfreak’s eponymous debut. Aside to a pair of gunky beat-less and beatdown works, its all about the full bore rave pressure here, authentically emulating a heyday of ’92-’93 breakbeat hardcore with the brutal body animator ‘Newroomfreak [WIDE]’ calling to mind the Amiga-squashed breaks of early Chaos & Julia Set via Jega’s Skam gems, whereas ’40z’ gets looser, splashier with the breaks in widescreen mode, where his ‘New Out’ wriggles for 10 mins of tail-chasing breaks and flyaway flute licks to get teeth and feet gnashing at the bit.
